The Light Within the Darkness

by
Alexander M Zoltai

~~~~~~~~~
The Prime Leader, Cerbrus, was staggeringly angry…
The Minor Leaders, all twenty-six of them, were in a meeting that he was not invited to.
They had attempted to keep it secret—he sent his best troops to bring the ingrates to his Residence.
~~~

Eighteen years before, in a mountain village, a girl was born—she had various Signs associated with her birth—her parents did all they could to keep her from discovery as the longed-for Promised Child…

Her name was Pershone.

~~~
The Minor Leaders were not arrested so much as escorted to the Prime Leader’s Residence—each proceeded by a cohort of their own troops and a standard bearer—all surrounded by the Prime Leader’s Imperial shock troops.
If the whole Land were to be attacked, repulsion would be quite easy…
~~~

Pershone knew she had a Mission—knew she must be circumspect—knew what to do…

~~~
The Prime Leader began to speak to the Minor Leaders:
“I will spare your lives, in the Name of my relation to the Godhead, SupremePrime.
“You will all show repentance by performing a spiritual trek to the Sacred Mountain, Itrisurk and camping near the Allu Canyon.
“Then, you each will walk up, alone, to the Cave of Luro and repeat a prayer I will provide.
“After which, I will welcome you back here to enforce my own brand of penance, to be observed before your peoples…”
~~~

Pershone travelled to the mountain, Itrisurk, taking only a female friend and three pack animals.

~~~
The Prime Leader arranged to have a special cadre of his undercover troops activated—covert agents triggered into action by secret messages—one in each of the Minor Leaders’ personal guard corps…
~~~

Pershone and her female friend, Lai, reached Allu Canyon and camped directly below the Cave of Luro…

~~~
The Minor Leaders arrived at Allu Canyon and encountered Pershone and Lai…
The Leaders engaged in a heated discussion about what to do about the two women until Pershone walked up to them… They immediately fell quiet and Pershone said:
“I am the woman who has matured from my previous state as the Promised Child.”
They all, Leaders and soldiers, looked at each other; but, none spoke…
Pershone walked extremely close to the Leader of Nesru and said, softly:
“I will gift you with knowledge. The Prime Leader has spies in your guard corps. He intends to kill each of you; but, I will stop this plot. Quietly tell the other Leaders.”
The Leader of Nesru went to each of his Peers and privately conveyed the message.
When he had returned to Pershone, she walked around the large group of men; and, as she walked, certain of the soldiers dismounted and began to follow her—twenty-six of them…
When she had returned to where she began, she stopped, and the men who had been following fell faint…
She then said: “Now, let us talk about your fear of the Prime Leader…”
The Minor Leaders told her of their secret meeting to plan some way to override the Prime Leader’s death grip on their plans and hopes for their peoples.
They all admitted being intimidated by various forms of dread and apprehension when confronted by the powers of the Prime Leader…
When they had talked themselves out, Pershone said:
“You give the man more power than he actually has—you make him into a god when the only God there is has created this man just as He created you.  He has certain traits that can instill fear in those who have learned to be fearful—learned I say, since you all are brave men in your own realms…”
The Leaders looked at each other and began to smile… with hate in their eyes…
Pershone spoke:
“You will not attempt to subdue this man with the same tactics he uses against you. I will confront him and clear the way for your future—this is why I was born… You must stay here until word reaches you of my success.”
She gave them further orders; then, she and Lai departed…
The men had no desire to do anything but what Pershone had told them to do…
~~~

The Prime Leader waited anxiously for word from his spies…

When evening of the third day arrived, he decided to send his shock troops to Itrisurk…

Before he could give the word, he was alerted that a strange woman desired an Audience.

Being a man who’s prime sport was taking advantage of women, he gave permission for her to enter his Chamber…

She appeared to him as a mere country girl with a friend attending her; perhaps, a village elder’s daughter…

He spoke:

“Young woman, what brings you to the Court of the Prime Leader, the Representative of the Godhead?”

“I come to warn you.”

“Of what, my dear?”

“First, your spies in the guard corps of the countries’ Leaders are incapacitated. Second, the Leaders themselves are in counsel together at Itrisurk.”

“You are an unwelcome messenger, my dear… Still, you aid me… I was about to send my shock troops; but, pray, how in the world did you know this and what made you come here?”

“I come here to inform you that the other Leaders are in counsel to reorder their domains so they can form a unified federation of nations, none being a supreme ruler, all being just and fair supporters of tranquillity.”

“Who are you?”

“I am the incarnation of a power that can wither you—I am your Conscience.”

He ordered his priests to chant his most mighty incantations…

While this was happening, he approached the woman and locked eyes with her.

Cerbrus’ body began to subtly vibrate—he began his own chant, a contrapuntal intonation to his priests’.

As Cerbrus’ body increased its vibrations, his fear became manifest—he reached for the woman…

He collapsed.

Pershone asked Lai to counsel the priests; then, she helped Cerbrus to his feet and instructed him:

“You will abdicate your rule, you will go to a far country and farm a plot of land—you may have nine helpers in your new life—I let you live…”

Pershone stretched out her hand and pointed at Lai…

Her friend began to softly glow…

Pershone said to the priests: “She is my arm—she is my hand—none may oppose her.”

Pershone vanished…

When Will It Stop?

by
Alexander M Zoltai
Dedicated to
Nathanael William Kee

~~~~~~~~~
Faurn was tired; but, he knew he had to finish his work…
Facts had stopped being facts; and Faurn had to try to make people wake up…
The trip back through the Belm system from Senju had brought many things to his mind…
Now, he must offload them all into his MemBot…
He wrote:
The Retributive Calamity
“We’re dealing with a calamity that seems designed to purge our race from the impurity of its age-long corruptions, and bond its constituent parts into a world-embracing Fellowship.”
Faurn carefully considered the title and opening statement…
He wrote on:
“We must consider a bit of history:
“The violent instabilities in our planetary system’s attempts to maintain cultural equilibrium…
“The quaking that has seized the vitals of Belm-kind…
“The deep-seated and unexpected transformation of Belm society…
“The inexorable and maddeningly slow collapse of the past, accepted Order…
“The foundational changes affecting the fabric of our governments…”
He paused, considered what had been written—wrote on:
“The dwindling of the desire for the support of spirituality…
“The rise of despotism…
“The diffusion of injustice…
“The collapse of empires…
“The weakening of ministerial institutions…
“The increase of rebellion and disruption…
“The broadening and strengthening of the Movement of the Unchangeable Prerogative…
“The stimulation into conflagration of the festering fire of racial animosity…
“The development of diabolical tools of war…
“The destruction of cities…
“The befoulment of the air on the majority of our planets…
“The obscene and villainous subjection and molestation of children; including, the rape of their youth from violently enforced warmongering…”
Faurn considered his list—changed a few modifiers—considered again…
Then, he wrote:
“Circumstances like these have continued to worsen because of the linkage between the component parts of our systems of civilization—because, every minor part has connection with every major part, and what upsets one upsets the other, in ever-repeating cycles…”
Again, Faurn considered his words…
Then, he finished:
“I feel we can only call on the Spirit of our Reality to heal the sicknesses, the imbalances that have assailed us all, on every side.
“We need Monumental Unity.”
Faurn reproduced his Message thousands of times, packed each one into its digital wrapper, addressed the wrappers, activated the programs for system-wide dissemination, and packed for his trip to the outpost on the minor planet, Deszm—willing to continue sending waves of his Message, for as long as his body remained alive………
What’s Your Problem?
by
Alexander M Zoltai
~~~~~~~~~

Sam had grown to accept that he was deeply flawed; but, he’s just beginning to learn he’s still worthwhile…

Let me give you some help understanding where he’s at now, at 34, by relating a few experiences he’s had since he was 17…

The year was 2000 and Sam was in Israel with his father and mother, Dad being an international businessman.

Sam had turned 17 in January and, before the year was over, he’d heard of 8 deaths and many more wounded in what were called terrorists acts, in Israel.

Even though he was nowhere near any of the attacks, he had an acute encounter with fear of death and he entered a cycle of anxiety and depression—swiftly “managed” with medication.

Quite naturally, over the years, Sam’s anxious depression and/or depressed anxiety (and the meds that did more harm than good) led him to waver in his sense of self, drift into homeless travels, and participate aimlessly in all manner of unhealthy activities…

When he was 20, living in the U.S.A., he’d happened to hear about 5 deaths from terror-related acts; but, he’d also found out about 141 terroristically-blamed deaths in Israel.

His rootless anxiety soared and he visited an urgent care facility to get more of the meds he’d stopped taking, while not stopping the illicit drugs…

By the age of 27, Sam had spent 200 days in jail (in increments of 3 or 4 days at a time), a total of 6 months in various rehab centers, and fathered 9 children by as many women…

At 29, he spent a year behind bars for aggravated robbery.

This is when things took a slight curve…

His cell-mate was somewhat religious but certainly not fundamentalistically-inclined. That man helped Sam realize that anxiety was a medical term for what most folks called fear and that depression was another medical label for simple self-pity.

Sam slowly realized that turning anxiety/depression into fear/self-pity wasn’t a quick fix; but, he, also, slowly began to see that he might be able to face his fear and work on his self-pity—perhaps…

From 30 to 34, Sam was still unstable but not quite so suicidally-inclined in his actions; and, this was in spite of increases in terrorist activity…

So, to return to now:

Sam had grown to accept that he was deeply flawed; but, he’s just beginning to learn he’s still worthwhile…

Friday Story Bazaar ~ Tale Sixty-Three

A Very Sad (?) Tale…

by
Alexander M Zoltai

~~~~~~~~~
The inhabitants of the planet were trying to destroy themselves.
Well, most of the inhabitants—all but 1/10th of one percent of them.
Julia continued on her Path…
All the indications were that things wouldn’t get better until they got much worse.
Julia continued on her Path…
Nearly every institution, public or private, was locked in patterns of indecisive rootlessness.
Julia continued on her Path…
She had what she considered privileged information—knowledge that some might call highly spiritual and others would condemn as worthless fantasy.
She was a member of a group that composed a very small, but growing, percentage of the planet’s inhabitants; and, as a group, their unity of action was markedly obvious.
She knew that science had theories that supported the growth of committed, unified groups; in fact, predicted their progress and ascendancy over fantastically huge “odds”.
She was secure in what she was doing; but, the pressure of the collapsing civilization did wreak havoc on her emotions, which she had to assuage through a number of daily hours of meditative practices…
Julia got in her car on a hazy-bright Saturday and made her weekly trip to the neighborhood, where she and six other individuals were conducting classes and consultations aimed at instilling hope and commitment in the families there—helping them become part of the sliver of a percent of the planet’s population who would create the New World—initiating and nurturing the community-binding actions that humans could use to thrive in any environment.
Even fear of death was not a stop sign—call it unconquerable aspiration—call it irrepressible resolve—call it what you will, it was working.
Julia and her soul-mates—a burgeoning family of futurists—spent many years in staunch and coordinated action—they were stronger than any well-trained army, since their goals were to nourish life, not deliver death.
The planet’s inhabitants who had no undying hope continued to eradicate each other, if not straightforwardly then through self-willed blindness and horribly inconsiderate patterns of mortal catastrophe…
The soul-stirring growth of the future-oriented and unified supporters of the human family continued to recruit new kindred—continued toward the universal re-building of civilization…
You may call this a tale of vast fantasy.
You may doubt the science behind the success of commitment to rational principles of human growth and solidarity.
You may cite history and cry wolf…
Yet, the force of the history of the future is in the hearts of those like Julia………
“And Now, the News from Hell…”
by
Alexander M Zoltai
~~~~~~~~~

Today, in a rather small country, a rather young girl was raped.

~~~
Last Friday, fourteen mildly disenfranchised individuals were consigned to solitary confinement for being incapable of adjusting to the norm.
~~~

Twenty-four residents of a middle-eastern country visited twenty-four cities in six countries and blew themselves into history’s shadows.

~~~
An international oversight organization predicts the flow of refugees will double in the next four years.
~~~

Monday will be somewhat sunny, with Tuesday through Saturday offering hurricane conditions.

~~~
Over the past year, in a rather large county, 5,000 12-year-old girls were married to men they barely knew.
~~~

In most major cities in the west, studies show the odds of a woman being killed by her husband are approaching 50%.

~~~
Recent actions by the Oppressors of the imprisoned People of the eastern Mediterranean coast defy rational appraisal but are followed by thinly-veiled propagandistic “news” apologetics.
~~~

Three major studies have been commissioned to delve into issues concerning the mental health of certain heads of state.

~~~
In the past six months, various corporations successfully demolished the economies of nine countries.
~~~

Over the past month, three countries’ military forces, of sea and air, experienced twenty-two close-calls of threat enhancement, with no party to the events claiming intention.

~~~
In a rather large city, there are now 7,000 custom cars that cost more than what it takes to educate 300 children through 3rd grade.
~~~

In the next week, expect most politicians to tell, on average, three lies per day.

~~~
It is estimated that, at any given time, approximately thirty-four priests are actively pursuing sexual abuse.
~~~

Seven residents of three American suburbs visited two metropolises and joined certain middle-eastern history-shadows.

~~~
It has been determined that there are currently six completely private wars that are more than three years old.
~~~

The three states that were slammed by the hurricane will be getting very little government aid.

~~~
We have heard, through sources unnamable, that international technology companies show evidence of sympathy with totalitarianism.
~~~

It has been estimated, by four independent agencies, that there are still thirty million slaves on earth.

~~~
There is no doubt that time is slowing down and threatens to reverse if world leaders don’t address the facts before them.
~~~

We have it, from reliable sources, that this outlet for news from hell will be shut down. It is unclear what will replace it…
