On The Path Toward . . .

In my last post, I said my next step on the path toward my next book was to read my last book.

Well, true; but…

There’re parts of my last book that live on this blog—little moonlets of the book

Since the next book is in the same universe and time-span, I must take account of those extra scenes I wrote that weren’t in the last-book-proper.

This is a bit of a challenge (but, what writer worth their salt doesn’t like a challenge) and I’m marveling, again, at how much space a novel can have; even if much of that space isn’t in the book

I wrote a post last November that may be of interest—What Are Your Writing Habits?

Also, while I’m off doing this thing called writing (i.e., not posting as much here), do feel free to use the search box in the upper right or the Top Tags widget down a ways in the left side-bar to find other posts of interest………

Hi, Alexander. Glad to hear your writing’s going well, and you’re taking the challenge of continuity with the last book in your stride. It’s very generous of you to leave your blog open to browsers. Thank you for that. :)

Well, Millie, not only is the blog open while I’m slaving away on the next book; I realized last night that, once that book is published, I’ll be stepping up the pace of posts here again—not necessarily five a week but, probably, at least three posts a week…

And, my intuition is telling me that the style of posting will change—not the “reportorial” approach I used to do (with research and linking to other sites) but more free-expression about reading, writing, and publishing…

    Stay Tuned :-)

That sounds excellent. I’ll look forward to seeing your new style. But first, just enjoy writing your book. I’m not being sarcastic here. Nothing makes me feel happier than writing my books. It’s a great feeling of achievemnent for one thing. I’ll stay tuned. :)

Yes, Millie, the joy of writing is something I struggled toward for most of my life—always wanted to—didn’t get serious until my late 50s—ever so happy I persisted :-)

I am sure all your readers of your books and blogs are happy that you persisted, also, Alex:-)

I share that view completely. At least you started a decade before I did! Much too late. :)

    “too late”?

    Perhaps not, Millie…

Oh, I’m not planning to give up, Alexander.
I’ve got things I want to write once I’ve finished my trilogy. Perhaps I just need to write more quickly. :)

    Perhaps, Millie :-)
