Another Good Reason To Read The Classics

I’ve had Cervantes’ Don Quixote on my To-Be-Read list for years…

I’ll get to it, eventually; but, the reading I must do to help me write my next book comes first.

Are there classic books you’ve been meaning to read?

Well, I may be able to offer some help.

Oxford University Press announced their World’s Classics Reading Group.

From the announcement:

“The Oxford World’s Classics social media channels will provide a forum for conversation around the chosen book, and every three months we will choose a new work of classic literature for the group to read.

“The editor of the Oxford World’s Classics edition of the book will provide literary context, discussion questions, and lead an online question-and-answer session around the book….

“If you have a classic that you’ve always wanted to read, let us know and we’ll consider it for next season.”

The first book is Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.

And, the social media channels for the Oxford World’s Classics are:

Twitter and Facebook

And, you can use the hashtag—#OWCreads.

Also, if you’re interested in a more modern classic, the “long-lost” “Sequel” to To Kill A Mockingbird has “been discovered” and will be published in July!

This is a rather huge deal since, until now, Harper Lee had only published one book and that was 55 years ago!!

There is some controversy surrounding this publication and, perhaps, some deep sadness…
