“Notes From One Alien To Another”
What better way to get a planet full of people to accept us, than to encourage it through debate and constant exposure with their own written words. A very good idea of yours.
However this planet is limited in its communication ability, having separate agencies that seldom go beyond the borders of their individual ‘countries’. These intangible lines separate communication as though they were an energy field sustained to keep information from the diverse populations that might taint or be otherwise be subversive to each other. It might also be established to keep secrets within the boundaries, either political or social.
Planting the idea of a global communications web that will allow us to contact and thereby influence a planet’s population with a single stroke of the typewriter (this reference is archaic and will someday be replaced) is excellant. Using this structure we will forewarn and establish our existence across local, physical, governmental, and societal boundaries so that we will be accepted by all of these peoples concurrently.
As it stands we are in the early stages, having established a network capable of mass communication through these boundaries. However it is not yet possible to contact all people because of their lack of technological ability, and due to the resistant of populations ruled by monarchies, dictatorships, and corrupt governments.
These will have to be subverted from within, their feet taken out from under them by the relentless passage of communications that they are unable to suppress. The devices necessary will have to be very small, micro-miniaturized so that individuals will have the ability to carry our message under the noses of repressive government and their militaristic oppressors.
Representatives of our species will have to look and act like the natives of the worlds, although they are varied in their appearances between races of people established and surviving in the varied climates and other physical divergences within the planet’s atmosphere. However, this is a later concern since initially the communication devices will be limited to written, then verbal, and only after some time passage has occurred, visual.
By this time our ability to assimilate a recognizable and acceptable ‘human’ form will be possible. However, in the meantime specialized filters and viewers will allow the physical presence of our people to be viewed as native to this country. Also available are images referred to as “Avatars”. These are special representations built by individuals to keep the secrets of their own appearances separate from the image they prefer to project. I assume this is to fool their respective governments to stave off possible repercussions by them. These “gaming” devices will suffice for a number of years as well.
That’s all for now, message complete. Oh, and as always, flash burn this message immediately after viewing. The government will of course disavow any knowledge of your existence should the natives catch on before they have been psychologically subverted and perverted. And also as always, “Zyylebuttzum” (With love, Alex.)
(I’m just tweaking your nose Alex…, I hope.)
Well, Barbara, glad you finally admitted you’re an alien :-)
Fascinating how you weave “impressions” of Notes from An Alien” into your comments on the post………
Totally love this idea: “The devices necessary will have to be very small, micro-miniaturized so that individuals will have the ability to carry our message under the noses of repressive government and their militaristic oppressors.”
Also, vastly intriguing how you melded-in aspects of Second Life (where we both frolic)
…
Tweaked my nose good and proper, Barbara—Thanks :-)
I don’t mind tweaking your nose, as long as I don’t bump it. :-)
Aww…
I always knew you were a considerate person :-)
